Don’t Forsake Me, Lord of Evil
(Kelek’s Lament)
~ To the music of “Don’t Cry For Me,
From the Musical “Evita”- by Andrew Lloyd-Webber& Tim Rice ~
By Sealgirl for the DDCC 2006
Many years have passed, and Kelek is alone, trapped within the sphere created by Venger, held for all time in the darkness underground. But he has one chance to escape; to plead his case to Venger’s one-time Master, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
It’s not easy, I know it’s strange
When I try to explain what I need
Now I call for your help, after all that I’ve tried
You don’t believe me?
All you can see is a man that is through,
Because I was beaten before.
You think I’m not good enough too.
I had to let it happen, I had to try
Couldn’t stay all my life, Venger’s slave
Looking out of my castle, to the far setting suns
So I chose treason
I’d travelled around, trying anything new
But nothing impressed him at all
I never expected it would
Don’t forsake me, Lord of Evil
The truth is, I never left you
All through my dark days
Banished existence
I’ll make that promise
Don’t keep your distance
And as for Venger, and his new “slaves”
New children held here in the Realm
Their destruction, for you, is all I desire
No more delusions
They are not the solution they promise to be
Your answer is here, all the time
I’m waiting for you to pick me
Don’t forsake me, Lord of Evil
The truth is, I never left you
All through my dark days
Banished existence
I’ll make that promise
Don’t keep you distance
Have I said too much? There is nothing more I can think of to say to you
But all you have to do is release me, then watch as every word comes true…
There is a long, anxious silence, and Kelek waits to see what the answer will be. Then the ground around him starts to shake, and the sphere begins to ascend.
He will be free!
