THE MIRROR CRYSTAL
The gang are resting in a beautiful oasis, with lots of lovely flowers and trees and interesting animals. They had been running for a long time and now they just want to stop. They also have no idea where they are.
DM appears with a riddle and a warning as usual, and the gang follows his advie and head off, though not with any great enthusiasm. They have to climb up a nearby hill, and though it looks easy enough, they all find it hard going (that's part of the riddle from DM). There is also lots of complaining from Eric.
They finally get to a Glittering Grotto, and they have to try and find a specific stone, the Mirror Crystal, but all the gems look the same.
Presto casts a spell to try and find it, that backfires in a spectacular fashion.
In the midst of the turmoil, Venger appears, also searching for the Mirror Crystal. By sheer chance both he and Diana reach it at the same time. There is a blinding flash and when the others next look round, both are lying on the floor.
The kids grab Diana and head off out.
Diana comes round at last, but is very surprised to discover that she is still in the cave and the otehrs have gone. she is worried that Venger might have captured them when she looks down and realises that she is now Venger!! She wonders what has happened and what she should do.
She figures out that the Mirror Crystal must have had somethign to do with what has happened, and decides that she has to follow the others and try and find the other "Diana" before Venger can cause the others too much trouble.
Meantime, Venger has figured out the same thing. But he realises this is a fantastic chance to get the weapons. He already has one, the Javelin.
He tries to trick the gang into going to a portal, knowing that they would go through and leave the weapons behind. He says that the Mirror Crystal showed him the way.
All the time he is struggling not to arouse the suspicions of the other kids. And it's not working!
At last the group gets to the portal, but "Venger" is there as well.
"Venger" gets the chance to uise the Mirror Crystal on "Diana" once more and they swap back. The real Venger, now back as Venger is furious that he's missed a great chance and destroys the portal before they can use it.
Diana (maybe) doesn't tel them they had been travelling with Venger, at least not for a while, and is probably annoyed that they didn't noticethe difference!
But they all agree that it has been a very strange day.
