VALLEY OF THE UNICORNS
SUMMARY
The kids are back in another forest, when Uni is startled by something and rushes off. They follow, and see a full-grown male unicorn fighting a pack of wolves, what they don’t see is a creepy old man riding another wolf in the shadows.
They try to help the unicorn, but Uni is snatched during the fight. The big unicorn uses its power of teleportation, centred on his horn, to get free of the wolves. When Uni tries, it doesn’t work properly first time, and she learns it can only be used once a day.
When the kids realise Uni is gone, they follow the wolves to get her back, which is what the old man wants. He leads them to a hedge of thorns.
Eric refuses to help and wants to leave Uni to be eaten, much to Bobby’s anger. But Dungeonmaster appears and tells them that the old man is the wizard Kelek who has much more than just Uni. The big unicorn they met is called Silvermane, the leader of the last unicorn herd and that’s what Kelek is after. His riddle this time is that “the fate of one is shared by all.”
The kids persuade Eric to push through the thorns with his Shield to the centre, when Kelek summons his castle from beneath the ground. Kelek desires the power of teleportation, the ultimate power over all matter, and then “all will kneel to Kelek, even Venger!” The kids rush in to attack, but are frozen in place by some sort of glass/crytstal substance, and can’t stop Kelek from magically removing Uni’s horn and placed in a statue with several others, leaving the unicorn almost helpless.
But Kelek is still missing three horns, and he goes off to plot how to find the lost Valley of the Unicorns, leaving the kids trapped. With Uni’s help, they break free and find a number more unicorns, all in the same state as Uni.
They decide that they have to warn the rest of the unicorns, so they leave and the herd leads them to a four-coloured waterfall, behind which is the Secret valley.
But Kelek and the wolves are following. He takes the three missing unicorns by magic, and sends a rock fall down to crush the young ones when they try and stop him. They take shelter under Eric’s Shield, and slowly break free of the rocks, only to find Dungeonmaster waiting for them. In response to the general surprise about Eric’s bravery, he says: “people can be many things, sometime your worst enemy can be your strongest ally.”
Presto realises that Venger will be interested to know what Kelek is up to and tries to summon him, but transports himself to Venger’s castle instead. Venger doesn’t destroy Presto immediately, but is VERY annoyed when he hears what Kelek is up to!
Meantime, the other kids try to delay Kelek’s plans and free Silvermane, but it fails and they are about to be eaten by the wolves when Presto and Venger appear.
Venger is scarily polite to the other wizard, but soon they are in a big fight over who is to have the horns. The kids don’t try and escape yet (as Eric suggests) but Presto tries to get the horns back to the unicorns. After getting the wrong kind of horns, Eric reminds him that they only have to replace one, as the fate of one is shared by all.
Kelek is defeated by Venger and his castle begins to sink back down under the ground, but Venger wants the horns for himself. Before he can take them, the unicorns and the kids teleport out of the castle to safety.
The unicorns return to the valley, but Uni decides not to stay too and goes with Bobby and the others.

“Maybe the rocks in your head need company.” That is such a good put down by Diana.
Kelek is a very clever dude for the way he uses the kids to get the free Unicorns.
Diana seems to love being sarcy to Eric in this episode. And Eric does NOT want to help Uni at all. Why not?
Eric also tries to write down what Dungeonmaster says, but still gets confused, but he does note down the riddle because he reads it back to Presto at the end.
If the fate of one is shared by all – why didn’t they all come off when Kelek did just one??
Kelek’s castle is fantastic.
Many handed statue holding the horns. There are 16 once uni’s been done, with 3 hands left empty. = 19 unicorns in total.
Kelek’s amulet – use to transport the three unicorns, and seems to be connected to the power of the horns.
Eric is the last one to be freed – Diana whacks him on the rump!
When the mountain comes down on top of them , guess who saves the day – Eric! And the comments are – “Why do you find that so difficult to believe Barbarian?” and “Who’d have thought he (Eric) could be brave?” Sheila.
How do they get Eric out from the rocks?
Eric thinks something useful is “8000 marines”
“You have invaded the castle of Venger and the penalty is…” WHAT!!
The wolves are changed into cute puppies, and take a liking to Eric. This is not the only time Eric is shown with an afinity to dogs.
Presto – horns and horns.
Only 6 unicorns are at Kelek’s Castle at the end – including uni, so two more must have accompanied them out of the valley.
Hank rides on Silvermane, and Eric pretend he can’t ride at all, by going backwards.
Where is Eric in the valley?? (suggestion, with the puppies)
Dungeonmaster’s idea that they’ll grow up to be guardians for the unicorns.
And Dungeonmaster is still keeping a very close eye on them, and has the last wave.

ALTERNATIVES
How do they get Eric out of the rockfall?
What else happens at Venger’s Castle, with Presto?
The most obvious proper Alt is if they go with Eric’s suggestion and leave Uni to her fate! (It's not even a choice of helping or going home!!)
