THE LOST CHILDREN
SUMMARY
The kids are taking shelter from the rain, when Dungeonmaster appears, telling them of a ship “that is capable of taking you home”, and to find it, they have to find the Lost Children. He disappears before they can get any more information.
They walk on, and eventually come to some ruins where they are attacked by unseen creatures. After a short skirmish, they discover the assailants are really kids, just like them who attacked because they thought the kids were working for Venger!
These are the Lost Children, but they have no ship, as it was taken by Venger. All their elders are gone, except for one, Alfor, who is being held prisoner in Venger’s castle.
In Venger’s Castle, something is working in a strange looking ship – with a welding torch, it is Alfor, who is repairing the ship, under duress. Shadow Demon then appears with news that the lost children have been seen in the forest nearby, with Dungeonmaster’s Young Ones. Venger orders them captured unharmed, so alfor will still work for him.
The Lost Children and the Young Ones make camp, and talk for a while, and the kids find out that these children live a very long time; the youngest is already 73!
The next morning, they go of towards Venger’s castle. They find no guards but it castle is surrounded by Venger’s army. Sheila goes invisible, to see if she can find out anything. She skulks around, safely avoiding traps and a tripwire. Then she goes down to the dungeon. But just when she thinks she’s found Alfor, the person changes into Venger, and she’s caught.
The others are waiting. Dungeonmaster appears and tells them they are all in great danger, “but through defeat, they will find victory”. Just as he disappears, there is a sudden attack by winged creatures ridden by cloaked mummies??, and the kids do really badly. Bobby and Diana are captured, and hanks arrow rebounds off a shield and knocks the bow away. In desperation, Presto tries a spell.
Next thing we know, the creatures are taking the Lost Children and bobby into the castle, but the cloaks are being used to hide the others. Presto’s spell zapped the creatures to who knows where. They get inside, but Shadow Demon spots them and tells Venger. But Venger already knows. He has obviously laid a trap.
Sheila hears the commotion, and waves, and the manage to scare off the guard. They open the door and get Sheila. Eric finds Alfor further along, but thinks it isn’t really him, as he doesn’t look like he expected.
Once everyone is together, they try and sneak to the ship using the capes. Once there, they discover that the ship is really a space ship! The Lost Children and Alfor aren’t native to the realm, but crashed here.
As Alfor tries to fix the few remaining problems with the ship, Venger appears with guards and attacks. Presto uses the Hat to help, but indeed of real help, he gets a miniature toy tank, that he just drops. The battle goes badly, even when Sheila tricks the ones chasing her into the trap like the one she found earlier. Lizardmen reinforcements arrive just a the ship is fixed.
The kids and the Lost Children join Alfor in the ship. Venger almost fires at them, but Presto’s toy tank appears and Venger stands on it, deliberately, and it explodes, seemingly blinding Venger.
Annoyed they have escaped, Venger takes aim and blasts the ship from the sky. It crashes just over the horizon and there is a big explosion. V thinks he is rid of them all, and assumes that the weapons have been destroyed.
But really it crash-landed in the swamp and everyone is ok. Presto and Eric land in the tree, of course, and Eric ends up in the water, again.
That’s the good news, the bad new is that it will take years to fix, and though the Lost Children are unfazed by the timescale, the kids can’t wait that long, so have to continue to find their own way home.

Eric ends up in the water again, at the start and the end! What a good day he’s having.
“The hat does work that well when its wet” Presto. You just know the comeback!
“How long does it rain in this world?” Dungeonmaster’s answer is “Last time it rained for 3 years!”
There are 5 Lost Children.
“Ew it’s a girl I don’t fight girls!” Bobby.
Sheila notes they speak perfect English. But they don’t explain!
Venger has a new castle now!
In their camp, there’s a spiffy three-tired bunk bed, and are having decent food, for once, including potatoes. And Diana and Hank are sitting together again.
Zogor is seventy four (seventy three and a half) (male)
Ovino is another lost child (male)
Kular – other male Lost Child
Aflor is 552.
No guards at Venger’s Castle – “no one is ever stupid enough to try and come here!” Eric
Sheila seems to have a gift for talking like other creatures – here lizardmen - making then fight about who called who what.
Sheila finds a weird dude in the dungeons. And Venger gets to transform again.
The others wait outside Venger’s Castle for over an hour.
Presto wears a watch
“In truth there is a 97% chance that something unexpected has happened to your friend”. Ovino. ("Never tell me the odds!!" - Han Solo!)
The kids are defeated easily, by the strange cloaked things, but only saved by the Hat.
Orc password - Troll-o-mock callfor.
The whole rescue scene is very like the sequence in Starwars.
They are told to go to cell 3, but just as Presto is opening it, Uni kicks at the door and dust comes off revealing it is number 13
When Eric’s shield is knocked out of his hand, and he pretends to know balck belt karate – as if the orcs would understand! Hank saved his skin, again!
The Lost Children and Alfor are vegetarians.
“You guys grow up to be wookies?” Eric.
They aren’t native to the realm, but crashed here.
The motovator device still needs fixed. Isn’t there one of those in Starwars too? “This R2 unit has a bad motovator”?
He also wants a a crowl wrench
Sheila tricks the ones chasing her into the trap like the one she found earlier, again imitating a lizardman.
Venger recovers fast enough from the exploding tank to set the exit trap going – and bizarre it is!! “flying into his trash masher!” Eric.
It’s really very silly of Venger to think them destroyed without checking.
Eric ends up in the water again at the end.
The Lost Children come from the planet Axon, far off through the northern sky.
“how long before you have this jalopy up and flying again, pop?’ sounds like a quote.
It will take 15 years to fix (that soon??),and the kids can’t wait that long.
The curly design on the side of Alfor's ship has a certain resemblance to 666 - but the dudes on the commentary say that it was just a coincidence (Thanks Kimmy!)
