THE TIME LOST
SUMMARY
Its haircut day; Presto is cutting Erics hair and Bobby is cutting Unis. Everyone is looking a little bored and disgruntled. Theyve just missed a Portal in the Castle of Clouds. Diana tries to cheer everyone up, but they are attacked by a Blue Dragon.
Suddenly, something from behind scares the animal. Its a jet fighter!
It fires at the animal and drives it away.
The kids try to attract the pilots attention. They run after it, but the pilot didnt see them and flies off. Hank tells them they are going to follow it, and Eric starts to disagree, but the valley starts to collapse behind them.
The pilot is trying to call in to his base, reporting a dragon. He suddenly meets Venger, beside his plane!
The kids are continuing to follow the plane, and meet Dungeonmaster. He tells them that the jet came from a portal, but a portal that holds a terrible danger, not only to you, but to your homeworld, earth.
But the pilot of the jet has been captured by Venger, and locked up with four others: A Viking, an astronaut, a American civil war fighter, and a Chinese warrior. This pilot is also not the one Venger wants, hes from the wrong time and country. A very specific time needed, a time before Dungeonmasters Young Ones were born.
Venger is beside a large blue crystal, the Crystal of Kronos, and it opens another portal. Its a plane from war-torn Germany, and its the one Venger has been waiting for! The portal closes, and Venger plans to eliminate the Young Ones as if they had never existed.
But the old plane crashes near the kids, and they rush over to help the pilot out of the plane. He introduces himself as Joseph Mueller. He tells them the portal is close by, and they all head off in the right direction.
Eventually, Venger appears at the burning plane, and hes pleased. Now hes sure the plane is from the correct time.
The kids and Josef have stopped for a proper picnic, from the Hat it seems!! Diana compliments him on his flying. They still think hes from the air show, rather than the war. But Joseph is now even more confused, but he is very happy to be away from the war, and discards the symbol of his allegiance in the river. The kids see what he does, and ask who he is, so he is forced to explain. He is a pilot in the Luftwaffe, and wants to be free of the war, but is worried they dont like him because of what he was.
Hank reassures Joseph that hes free, now. And he can go home with them, when they find the portal. They tell him about the future, and all the amazing things that happen after the war.
But before they can get too far, Venger attacks, sending blobs of fire to the ground. Burning trees fall, and they are trapped. Venger sends down magic to take Josef away, and the kids are left behind in the flaming forest. The Hat fails to bring them any help, but Hank brings down part of a nearby waterfall, and the flood puts out the fire.
Dungeonmaster suddenly appears, and tells them that Venger is using the crystal of Kronos to change the history of earth. He is trying to destroy them by changing their past.
Meantime, Venger has taken Josef back to the Crystal of Kronos. He then taunts Josef with being a coward, telling he that he had planned to send him back to his own country as a hero. He shows Josef the jet from the future, and it has new weapons on it, sufficient to tip the balance of the war.
The kids arrive to help Josef, but Venger doesnt care!! Josef is going back through the portal with the new plane, and there is nothing they can do about it! Venger boasts about how they will be wiped from the face of history, that not even a memory of them will remain!
Josef boards the plane and prepares to leave. The kids prepare to fight Venger, even though it is hopeless. As the jet heads for the portal by the crystal, Eric thinks Hank should fire but Hank cant do it, as Josef was their friend.
Just then, as Hank hesitates, the jet turns and fires on the crystal, destroying it and the portal starts to collapse. Venger is furious he blasts the plane with magic, and Josef bails out, before it explodes and manages to get back through the portal just before it closes.
Dungeonmaster appears once more and tells them that Josef has returned home to be a hero he will fight on the side of freedom, and the earth history is unchanged.

Hair cutting day!
They missed a portal in the Castle of Clouds.
Another chance to get home gone up in smoke! Sheila not like her to be disheartened!
Diana is the one who tries to cheer everyone up.
It wasnt anybodies fault. Diana. Hmm I wonder !
(Missing from the final episode, but in the Storyboards is an extension of the scene, where Eric and Hank bicker about who's to blame for missing the portal - Thanks Kimmy!)
Presto looses his glasses again.
Starfire 19 to base
When the pilot didnt see them real disappointement in Erics voice.
Another chance to get home, gone Sheila shes really down in this episode!
They havent ever missed two chances in one day before.
Hank calls it a jet plane, but Diana has never seen a plane like it.
Pilot calls in to base, about a dogfight with a flying dragon.
Can anyone hear me? Pilot
I can hear you! Venger
Im under attack by some guy in a dress, riding a flying horse! Pilot
Pushing mach 1 and hes gaining on me wow that horse can FLY!
What is Eric doing on that rock?
First time Dungeonmasters used the word Earth!
Eric sneese himself down from the rock, and is about to fall, but its only a very short way.

Crystal of Kronos opens another portal.

Eric greets Josef with welcome to wacky-land, earthling!
Diana flirts with Josef oh yes she does!
They ask if he can remember where the portal was, and he points it out. That way, maybe ten kilometres (when did Germany start using the kilometre as a measure)?
They seem to have a proper picnic from the Hat!!
And Diana is still flirting.
They had crocodile eggs for breakfast six hatched on Erics plate!
Diana compliments Josef on his flying and Uni seems to like him too
They think hes from the air show, rather than the war.
Wait til my brother hears how you belly-landed that old antique! Diana.
Diana has a brother and knows a lot about planes too.
And WHAT are Hank and Eric doing in the background?
All excited about telling him the future. List of things to experience - colour tv (Bobby), rock and roll (Sheila), smog (Eric!).
Venger only just misses them.
Vengers magic and an arrow combine, making fire.
Sheila turns to Presto and the Hat for help. He gets a fire extinguisher, but its full of whipped cream (??)
The flood almost drowns Uni.
Couldnt you have come up with something a little less dramatic! Eric
Quit complaining, were all still alive, arent we! Hank
Dm is walking on water again.
The Crystal of Kronos can enable Venger to change Earth history.
Eric took history 3 times, and got a lousy c minus!
Eric is definitely looking taller at the moment.
Josef was one of the great pilots of Earth.
Even though Josef has never flown a jet, Venger can implant knowledge of its controls in his mind. (?)
You will address me as Master! Venger to Josef (as opposed to Herr Venger)
Diana is pretty crushed when she hears Josef and Venger have struck a bargain.
Sheila is also looking pretty pissed!
Venger touches Sheila on the chin. (though Sheila calls for Hank, he does nothing!!) its Bobby who reacts, by threatening Venger with the Club.Only then does Hank do something!
Venger boasts about how they will be wiped from the face of history, that not even a memory of them will remain.
Bobby begs Josef not to do go back.
Prestos hat swallows one of Vengers fireballs.
When you gonna learn blocking bolts of magic is my job, Presto Eric when did THAT happen!!
Venger is caught in the backlash when the Kronos Crystal explodes.
Hank comforts Diana!
Ultimately, Earth history is unchanged.

What if Joseph hadnt managed through the portal and was either trapped in the Realm or killed would the history of the earth still be the same? (cf The Terminator)

The other men held in the realm disappear when the Crystal is destroyed. Why doesnt the jet disappear then too, and Josef?

And why didnt Dungeonmaster to something sooner?
