Notes.

On Inspiration

This one has been around for a very, very long time. It was the second or third episode I made notes for, once I'd decided on the Extended Season concept. I would have liked to have put it up after OH, but Interlude fitted better. There are a number of similarities between DT and Interlude, not least the fact that they are both Presto-centric and involve him making decisions and facing the consequences. But at least he seems to have learned from Interlude!

On The Orion Lance

The name Orion is a reference to the constellation of The Hunter, but there is no deeper significance than that. The makers of the cartoon often threw in familiar names and ideas just for the hell of it, so I did too.
And, though we never see it used, the Lance does literally "point the way home"; it will direct it's holder to what they seek, for good or for bad.

On Nefarious Plot

The basic idea was that I wanted them to fail. I never intended for the kids to use this Lance; it was always going to be something that was removed before they got to use it - they were never going to get the chance to decide if they wanted to use it or not. External forces were involved!
As to the identity of the Doppelganger's master... I'm not going to tell you. Yet.

On Creatures

The Shadow Dragons are creatures from the Monstrous Manual, which is where their descriptions and liking of mouldy meat are taken from.
The Duegars are from there as well, mostly; I’ve made them a little bit nicer than they are in the Monstrous Manual, where they are much more evil as opposed to oppressed.

Author’s notes:

On Creatures

“Shadow Dragons”; their descriptions and liking of mouldy meat are taken from the D&D Monstrous Manual.

“Duegars” are as well, sort of – I’ve made them a little bit nicer than they are in the Monstrous Manual, where they are more evil than just oppressed ;)

On Thanks

Great, big juicy and heartfelt thanks to those who had reviewed this story and my other ones – especially Realmlife and C Bell. Thank you all for your support!
